Survey on Campus Atmosphere and Diversity at the University of Bamberg

Dear participant,

A clear commitment to diversity as well as equity for everyone is a core tenet of the University of Bamberg’s mission statement.

With this survey, we would like to enquire about your needs for a good study and working atmosphere as a student or employee at our university.

Your experiences matter! Your participation in this survey will help us to gain better insights into the overall atmosphere at the university, identify areas requiring targeted support, and develop needs-based services accordingly.

• The survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete.
• Your participation is voluntary. You can always choose to leave questions unanswered or terminate the survey at any time.
• Please read the instructions and questions carefully and answer them intuitively and honestly. There are no right or wrong answers.

We process personal data in this survey, and the protection of personal data is a matter of great importance to us. Personal data is only processed in accordance with the applicable data protection requirements, in particular the General Data Protection Regulation (Datenschutz-Grundverordnung, GDPR) and the Bavarian Data Protection Act (Bayerisches Datenschutzgesetz, BayDSG).

The data collected in this questionnaire will be used by the university’s Diversity Management team to gain an insight into the university community, identify areas requiring support, and develop needs-based services.

The survey is being conducted by the Anti-Discrimination Office, the Vice President for Diversity and International Affairs, and the Quality Management unit of the University of Bamberg's Z/PQM division. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the survey team (campusklima@uni-bamberg.de).

• The following data will be collected and processed as part of the survey: your affiliation with the university, details regarding your studies or employment, your personal assessment of the working and academic environment, your assessment of the level of awareness and acceptance of diversity offerings at the university, and diversity data, which includes age, gender, sexual orientation, ethnic origin, religion, social background, care responsibilities and health data (special categories of personal data).
• The collected data will be stored until the end of the project, and for no longer than ten years. The deletion of the data is reviewed at regular intervals.
• Data processing is conducted on the basis of your consent. The legal foundation for data collection and processing are Art. 6 para. 1 sect. 1 let. A and Art. 9 para. 2 let. A, GDPR.
Participation in this survey is voluntary.
Non-participation will in no way result in any negative consequences for you.
• Additionally, you may withdraw your consent regarding the processing of your personal data at any time. To do so, you can generate a unique code at the end of the survey. If you wish to withdraw your consent, you can use an anonymous contact form on the survey website.
• The collected data will not be shared with third parties.
